$$ Hôtel des Tuileries** is a good value, with helpful English hosts (Andrew and Caryn) and a central location 10 minutes on foot from the train station. Rooms are large, and some have balconies. Air-con, elevator, wifi.

Hôtel des Tuileries. English owners Andrew and Caryn offer tastefully quaint, clean and spacious rooms that are a welcome retreat from the clamour of Nîmes but are right near restaurants and sights. Pros: excellent value; helpful service; accommodating check-in / check-out times.

Hôtel des Tuileries has been given a listing in the 6th edition of Lonely Planet’s guide to Provence and the Côte d’Azur. One of only two hotels are listed for Nimes, the other being a 300+ euro a night boutique hotel, the Tuileries is described as an “11 roomed family-run hotel” which is “extremely well priced for such a central location”. The review goes on to describe “simple but spic-and-span rooms, with balconies overlooking Nîmes’ narrow streets”.
